DC Budgam reviews arrangements for holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram

BUDGAM, MAY 09: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir khan along with SSP Budgam, Hariprasad KK Saturday convened a stakeholders meeting involving community organisations, Shia Anjumans, officials of various departments and other stakeholders to review and finalise the arrangements being put in place for ensuing month of Muharram- ul-Harram.

At the outset, there was a detailed discussion on the key priorities and arrangements that are required to be out in place for the smooth conduct of the Muharram.

The representatives, as per an official statement, from different Shia Anjumans, community representatives and other stakeholders demanded scheduled power and water supply, repairing and surface levelling of key roads and links, timely distribution of ration, LPG, and firewood, arrangements for sanitation, installation/restoration of street lights, adequate health care facilities, transport and other related facilities.

The DC directed power and Jal Shakti departments to ensure smooth scheduled supply of power and water supply, Forest Department to firewood, FCS&CA was directed to ensure advance distribution of  ration, Cooperatives department was directed to make rice, sugar and other supplies available through temporary outlets within the district.

Likewise, R&B Department and ULBs were directed to get the road and drainage works and repairs done in advance, ARTO was directed to make transportation plan available for and from the key centres. Directions were issued for repair of  toilets and also immediate construction at identified spots at Budgam, Magam, Khanda etc.

On the occasion, SSP Budgam assured all stakeholders about security and police related arrangements and solicited cooperation from all stakeholders.

The community representatives appreciated the timely and advance conduct of the meeting and assured full cooperation and support to the administration. They  also assured their support to the Nasha Nukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan.

DC Budgam at conclusion assured that the administration is always available and open for grievance redressal, suggestions or concerns of the citizens.

 The meeting was attended by representatives of All J&K Aunjuman Sharie Shian Darul Mustafa Budgam, All J&K Anjuman Sharie Shian Shariatabad, Yousuf Abad Budgam, All J&K Shia Association, Srinagar, Chairman Central Auqaf Committee Magam, President General Auqaf Committee, Khanda, besides, ADDC Budgam, ADC Budgam, CPO Budgam, All SDMs, ACD, ACP, CMO, Dysp Hqs, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD and PHE, all Tehsildars, all EOs and district  officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
