Green India Mission : DC Reasi reviews proposed annual plan 2026-27

REASI, MAY 20: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek Wednesday chaired a meeting of the District Steering Committee for the Green India Mission to review the proposed Annual Plan of Operation for 2026–27.

The meeting, as per an official statement, focused on the implementation of the Green India Mission in the Mahore Forest Division, aimed at ecological restoration, enhancement of forest cover and improvement of ecosystem services.

The meeting discussed the objectives and proposed activities aimed at ecological restoration, enhancement of forest cover and conservation of natural resources in the division. The meeting was informed about the proposed Annual Plan of Operation for the new financial year covering treatment and restoration works across identified forest areas.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed activity-wise proposals submitted by Village Forest Committees of Manjikote, Sar, Malla Bathoie and Angralla villages under various sub-missions of the Green India Mission.

Reviewing proposals under Sub Mission-1, discussions centered on enhancement of forest quality and ecosystem services through eco-restoration of degraded forests, restoration of grasslands and maintenance activities. The proposals under Sub Mission-2, mostly related to restoration of scrublands and increasing forest cover, were also reviewed.

 Among others the meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Reasi, Divisional Forest Officer Mahore, District Tribal Welfare Officer and other concerned officers.
