BUDGAM, MAY 22: Closing ceremony of the Road Safety Awareness Week was Friday organized by the District Legal Services Authority Budgam in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Magam at Lucent International School Magam.
The programme, as per an official statement, was conducted under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Budgam, O.P. Baghat and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Budgam, Tabassum Parray, and under the chairmanship of Chairperson TLSC Magam, Rabyia Snober Gulzar.
The event was graced by the Secretary DLSA Budgam, and Chairperson TLSC Magam. Officials from Traffic Police, Police Department, PLVs, teachers, students, and members of civil society also participated in the programme.
During the programme, speakers highlighted the importance of road safety measures, responsible driving, use of helmets and seat belts, and strict adherence to traffic rules for prevention of road accidents.
Students of various institutions presented awareness skits, speeches, and Nukad Natak performances focusing on traffic rules, safe driving practices, and protection of human life.
A series of awareness activities, rallies, and programmes were conducted during the Road Safety Awareness Week from 18th May, across different institutions of Magam. The participants appreciated the efforts of DLSA Budgam and TLSC Magam for spreading awareness among the general public, especially youth and students.
The programme concluded with a pledge by participants to follow traffic rules and promote road safety awareness in society.
