BUDGAM, MAY 26: The 5th meeting of the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC), Budgam was Tuesday held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Budgam, presented a detailed overview of the functioning and progress of the cooperative sector in the district, with particular focus on the implementation of the Cooperative Infrastructure Development Fund (CIDF) and Cash Credit Limit (CCL) schemes.
The Committee held detailed deliberations on various proposals placed before it for consideration under the CIDF and CCL schemes.
After thorough examination and discussion, the DC, as per an official statement, approved several proposals under both CIDF and CCL schemes aimed at strengthening cooperative institutions and enhancing their operational efficiency.
Speaking during the meeting, the DC emphasized the role of cooperative societies in promoting inclusive economic growth and rural development. He stressed the need for ensuring transparency, accountability and timely implementation of the approved projects so that the intended benefits reach cooperative institutions and their members effectively.
The DC further directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the execution of sanctioned projects and ensure that cooperative societies are provided all necessary support for strengthening their business operations and infrastructure.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP), Chief Agriculture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Budgam, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies and Additional Managing Director, State Cooperative Bank, besides other officers of the Cooperative Department.
