NMBA :  Quiz competitions, awareness programmes held across Bandipora KT News Desk

BANDIPORA, MAY 30: Various educational institutions across district Bandipora on Saturday organised quiz competitions, pledge ceremonies and awareness programmes under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote healthy lifestyles among students.

Pledge taking ceremonies, as per an official statement, under NMBA were organised at High School Panar and Government High School Nadihal, while a special morning assembly focusing on awareness against substance abuse was held at HSS Gadakhud.

Health Awareness Quiz programmes were organised at PM SHRI Government High School Odina, HSS Gadakhud, HSS Nowgam, High School Ahamsharief, H/S Ketson, HS Koragbal and HSS Quilmuqam. Students participated enthusiastically in the quiz competitions and awareness activities focusing on health, well-being and prevention of drug abuse.

At HSS Quilmuqam, students and staff also participated in a Nasha Mukt pledge ceremony reaffirming their commitment towards a healthy and drug-free society, while winning teams in the quiz competition were awarded prizes.

Meanwhile, Government Degree College Sumbal organised a “Dosti Discussion” under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl, where students held interactive discussions on substance abuse, peer pressure, mental well-being and the importance of healthy lifestyles.

HKM Degree College Bandipora also organised a Student Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse under the banner of NMBA through its NSS Youth Club and Red Ribbon Youth Club. Convener NCORD, Prof. Irfan Ahmad Wagay highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and emphasized the need for collective efforts to protect youth from addiction. The College also organized an interactive awareness session on the drug menace for 4th Semester students under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and staff members across the district, reflecting the continued commitment of educational institutions towards strengthening awareness and preventive outreach under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
