Justice Sanjeev Kumar appointed Acting Chief Justice of J&K HC

Srinagar, Jun 01: The President of India on Monday appointed Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Ministry of Law & Justice notified the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Kuamr as acting of the High Court.

“ In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh consequent upon the appointment of Shri Justice Arun Palli, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India,” reads the notification, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
