DDC Kulgam assesses MGNREGA works in Chansar, Shouch Panchayats

KULGAM, JUNE 12: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, Friday conducted an extensive field inspection of various Panchayats, including Chansar and Shouch, to assess the proposed works identified under PRI/Capex and MGNREGA for the financial year 2026–27.

The DDC, as per an official statement, was accompanied by the Chief Planning Officer Kulgam, Block Development Officer Kulgam, Assistant Executive Engineer REW Kulgam, and other field functionaries of the Rural Development Department.

During the visit, the DDC inspected several proposed development sites and reviewed the planning and prioritization of works aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and improving public service delivery.

Interacting with officials and field functionaries, the DDC stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of quality, transparency, and accountability in the execution of developmental works.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure that all projects are planned and implemented strictly in accordance with approved guidelines and timelines.

The DDC also interacted with labourers engaged under MGNREGA and reviewed the progress of ongoing works, appreciating their contribution towards rural development while emphasizing the importance of timely completion of projects.

Highlighting the significance of regular field monitoring, the DDC instructed that inspections across Panchayats of the district should continue on a routine basis to ensure timely execution of works, adherence to quality standards, and optimal utilization of public resources.

During the visit, the DDC also visited educational institutions in the area to assess the facilities available to students and emphasized the need for quality infrastructure to support better learning outcomes.
