Doda, June 12: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Doda, in collaboration with the Labour Department, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Women Helpline on Friday organised an awareness programme on World Day Against Child Labour at Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda.
The programme aimed to create awareness regarding the eradication of child labour and to promote the protection, welfare and educational rights of children through collective community participation.
Advocate Tahir Hussain Dar and Abhi Kumar acted as Resource Persons and delivered informative lectures on the harmful effects of child labour, the importance of education and the legal safeguards available for the protection of children under various welfare legislations.
Representatives from the Labour Department, CWC and Women Helpline also participated in the programme and apprised the participants about various child protection mechanisms, welfare schemes and support services available for children in need of care and protection.
The programme was conducted by Para Legal Volunteers Pramveer Manhas and Shanaza Begum.
Among those present were representatives from the Labour Department, CWC and Women Helpline, alongside PLVs, faculty and students of the school.
