Srinagar, Jun 29 (KNO): Highlighting the importance of direct business engagement, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani on Monday said the J&K International Buyer-Seller Meet will enable artisans to secure direct business deals with buyers, ensuring fair and competitive prices for their products.

Welcoming foreign delegates participating in the event, Wani, while addressing the gathering, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the handicrafts sector has played a vital role in keeping Jammu and Kashmir’s economy on track.

He said, “In the past, many artisans worked tirelessly, but they did not receive the benefits they truly deserved. Thankfully, things have changed and this International Buyer-Seller Meet is a clear example of that.”

Highlighting the significance of direct buyer-seller interaction, Wani said, “Artisans will now get fair and competitive prices for their products, which will greatly benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He added, “such events will strengthen trade and create better market opportunities for our craftsmen and artisans.”

Expressing hope for the future of the sector, Wani said, “I hope these Buyer-Seller Meets will further boost the handicrafts sector and help expand the market for our artists.”

Stressing the importance of handicrafts and handlooms to the region’s economy, he said, “Our economy depends significantly on handicrafts and handloom and we are blessed with exceptionally skilled artisans whose craftsmanship deserves global recognition—(KNO)
