Srinagar, Jul 04: Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday termed the inclusion of separatist leaders names in school textbooks a ‘deliberate attempt,’ warning that those found responsible will face strict action, including termination from duty.

Speaking to the reporters, Minister Itoo said, “As soon as the issue of the two textbooks carrying the ‘inappropriate content’ came to my notice, I immediately asked the secretary of the School Education Department to terminate those persons.”

She said that suspension orders against eight staff members of the department have been issued and investigation has also been initiated.

“Strict action will be taken against those who will be found involved in the inquiry report. These things won’t be tolerated,” Itoo said.

The Minister said, “I also believe that this is a deliberate attempt of including the names of separatist leaders in these books and whosoever will be involved in it will face a strict action and termination from the duties and that is the reason suspension orders have been issued as well.”

“The publishers will be banned permanently and if they were found involved in hatching any sort of conspiracy, they will not be allowed to publish any book ever,” she said—(KNO)
