SRINAGAR, JULY 06: The Department of Animal Husbandry, Kashmir celebrated World Zoonoses Day Monday at its Directorate office with the theme “One World, One Health: Prevent Zoonoses”.
The days is observed every year on 6th July to mark Louis Pasteur’s 1885 breakthrough, the first vaccine against rabies.
Senior officers and officials, students of GGHSS Kothibagh, and pet owners attended the event. Experts, as per an official statement, spoke on preventing zoonotic diseases through vaccination, hygiene, and responsible pet care, stressing the One Health approach linking human, animal, and environmental health.
Participants lauded the department’s efforts to spread awareness.
