BARAMULLA, JULY 11: The two-day extensive tour of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, across Gulmarg Sub-Division concluded Saturday with a comprehensive review of developmental works, implementation of government schemes and progress of key infrastructure projects in the area.

During the tour, the ADDC was accompanied by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Gulmarg, Jaliel Ahmed Mir, along with the Tehsildar Tangmarg, Block Development Officer (BDO), Executive Officers of the Municipal Committees, officers from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Tourism departments, besides other concerned officials.

As part of the tour, the ADDC, as per an official statement, inspected the Apiculture Unit and Trout Farm established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) at Tangmarg. He reviewed the functioning of these units, assessed the infrastructure created under the programme and interacted with the concerned officers regarding production, beneficiary outreach and future expansion plans.

Emphasizing the effective implementation of HADP, the ADDC directed officers to maximize the benefits of the programme for local farmers, beekeepers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders by ensuring proper execution and greater public outreach.

The ADDC also visited the Ziarat of Baba Reshi, Drung Temple Ruins (Pandava Temple), St. Mary’s Church and Maharani Temple at Gulmarg, where he reviewed ongoing efforts for the preservation, maintenance and promotion of these important heritage sites. He stressed the need to safeguard the district’s rich cultural and historical heritage while improving visitor amenities and ensuring proper upkeep of the monuments.

Reviewing various ongoing developmental works across the sub-division, the ADDC interacted with the executing agencies and directed all concerned departments to ensure the timely completion of projects without compromising quality standards. He underscored the importance of close inter-departmental coordination, regular field monitoring and prompt resolution of bottlenecks to ensure efficient and transparent implementation of developmental initiatives for the benefit of the public.
