KUPWARA, JULY 24: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, Friday chaired a meeting to review the progress of works being executed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) across the district.

The meeting undertook a comprehensive assessment of ongoing works under the scheme, which is aimed at improving the quality, reliability and affordability of power supply through a financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution sector.

Addressing the officers, the DDC underscored the need to expedite the pace of execution and directed the concerned departments and the executing agency to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated timelines.

He laid special emphasis on prioritising works in far-flung areas and Vibrant Villages to ensure equitable access to quality power infrastructure.

The DDC also directed for formulation of Sub-Divisional and Tehsil level committees consisting Revenue, PDD (Projects and ED), NTPC to monitor pace of work and resolve local issues urgently.

The DDC called for joint site visits by the concerned officers for on-the-spot resolution of issues and removal of bottlenecks. He conducted an area-wise and feeder-wise review of ongoing works and stressed the need for close coordination and prompt redressal of field-level issues to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of smart metering and other infrastructure works being carried out under the RDSS across the district.

The meeting was attended, among others, by the CPO Kupwara, Executive Engineers of Electric & Projects Divisions, representatives of NTPC, and officers of the concerned departments.
