ADC Sopore visits Flood Prone Areas of Sub-division

Stresses proper strengthening, maintenance of flood protection bund

BARAMULLA, JULY 27: Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Dr. S.A.Raina, along with a team of officers, Monday conducted a comprehensive field visit to Warpora and adjoining areas of Sub-Division Sopore to inspect flood protection bunds along the River Jhelum and Wular Lake.

The ADC, as per an official statement, conducted an on-site assessment of the bund and interacted with the concerned officers regarding its present condition and the progress of maintenance works.

Stressing the importance of timely preventive measures, the ADC directed the concerned departments to ensure proper strengthening and maintenance of the flood protection bund to minimise the risk of inundation during the heavy rainfall spells.

The ADC also emphasized close coordination among all stakeholder departments for the timely completion of necessary works and instructed officials to remain vigilant and respond promptly to any emerging situation.
