SDG Kumar Hails CRPF’s Anti-Terror Role in J&K

Srinagar, Jul 27: Describing CRPF’s 88-year journey as one of courage, sacrifice and service to the nation, Special Director General (SDG), J&K Zone, CRPF, Rajesh Kumar on Monday said the force played a pivotal role in curbing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the 88th Raising Day celebrations at the Group Centre (GC) CRPF Srinagar, Rajesh Kumar extended warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to all CRPF personnel.

He said the Force has built a glorious legacy over the past 88 years through its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country’s internal security.

The SDG lauded CRPF’s commendable operational role in Punjab, Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas, the Northeast and Jammu & Kashmir, saying the Force has consistently discharged its responsibilities with dedication, professionalism and valour under challenging circumstances.

Highlighting the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajesh Kumar said the CRPF has played a vital role in curbing terrorism by working in close coordination with sister security agencies.

He also paid rich tributes to the brave-hearts of the Force, remembering the supreme sacrifices made by CRPF personnel in the line of duty for the nation.

Later, Rajesh Kumar, accompanied by senior CRPF officers, paid solemn homage to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak located inside the Group Centre campus.

A Sainik Sammelan was also organised during the celebrations, where recipients of the Shaurya Chakra, Gallantry Medal and Director General’s Disc were felicitated for their outstanding service, devotion to duty and operational excellence.

Various sports events and the traditional Bara Khana were organised to mark the occasion and boost the morale of the troops.

It is important to mention, the event was attended by Inspector General, Srinagar Sector, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Inspector General, Kashmir Operations Sector, Vineet Brij Lal, and other senior CRPF officers.

Meanwhile, Director General of CRPF G.P. Singh extended greetings to the entire CRPF family on the Force’s 88th Raising Day and reiterated the Force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation and overcoming all internal security challenges—(KNO)
