Assesses grievance redressal, SVAMITA cards progress

Srinagar, July 29: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg on Wednesday chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioners to review the progress of key matters, including the clearance of compassionate appointment cases, disposal of public & migrant grievances, revenue appeals, issuance of SVAMITA cards, and land transfer issues.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners to expedite the processing of pending compassionate appointment cases in coordination with the concerned authorities and ensure the preparation of the final list of eligible beneficiaries at the earliest.

He also instructed the Deputy Commissioners to dispose of pending migrant and other public grievances in a time-bound manner, stressing the need for prompt and effective grievance redressal.

Emphasising efficient revenue administration, the Divisional Commissioner called for streamlining the hearing and disposal of revenue appeals by Second Class Magistrates.

Reviewing the implementation of the SVAMITA scheme, he urged the district administrations to accelerate the generation and distribution of SVAMITA cards to eligible beneficiaries.

The meeting also reviewed the status of land transfer proposals concerning various departments and organisations, including the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCC Training Camp, and other government agencies.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to expedite the processing of these cases at their ends to facilitate timely completion of pending land transfer formalities.
