BUDGAM, JULY 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Wednesday chaired a meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Vivek Agarwal, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer and officers from concerned departments.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, reviewed physical and financial progress under HADP and JKCIP, covering application status, approvals, establishment of beneficiary units, financial utilisation, PM-DAKSH skilling, Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs), e-KYC, credit linkages and other project-wise achievements.

He emphasized on robust functioning of Common Service Centres and Kisan Khidmat Ghars to strengthen their role in farmer registration, digital services, awareness generation and e-KYC completion.

Reviewing the implementation of JKCIP, the DC stressed the need for expediting field-level execution of approved cases and ensuring timely delivery of benefits to genuine farmers.

“HADP and JKCIP are transforming the agriculture and allied sectors by promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing productivity and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for farmers and rural youth,” the DC said.

Describing HADP and JKCIP as a major push of economic growth and livelihoods of farmers, he instructed Officers, “ensure speedy disposal of cases under both schemes for better economic prospects and progressive farming practices in the district.”

The DC directed all line departments to work in close coordination to ensure timely establishment of approved units, saturation of beneficiary-oriented schemes, regular field verification and effective monitoring. He also directed for intensified awareness campaigns at the grassroots level to maximise farmer participation under various government schemes.
