SHOPIAN, AUGUST 03: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting on the implementation of the Youth Engagement Programme in the district.

The meeting reviewed the progress of activities being undertaken by various departments and deliberated on the roadmap for ensuring greater youth participation across the district.

During the meeting, the ADDC directed all departments to prepare and implement systematic, well-coordinated and time-bound action plans. He emphasized that youth engagement initiatives should be decentralized and organized at the zonal and grassroots levels to ensure maximum outreach.

The ADDC stressed the need for establishing facilitation centres and ensuring active coordination among line departments. He called upon officers to involve teachers, AWWs, ASHAs, Panchayat representatives and other grassroots functionaries in mobilizing youth for different activities.

He instructed departments including Education, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Skill Development, Youth Services & Sports, DIC and other stakeholder departments to work in close coordination for effective implementation of the programme.

The meeting also discussed scheduling of sports, skill development, awareness and career-oriented activities. Departments were directed to upload event details regularly and maintain proper documentation of all activities.

The ADDC emphasized that every youth should be meaningfully engaged through constructive activities aimed at building skills, leadership qualities and positive community participation. He underscored that the programme should serve as an effective platform to channelize the energy of youth towards nation-building while protecting them from drug abuse and other social evils.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to ensure coordinated efforts by all departments for the successful implementation of the Youth Engagement Programme across District Shopian.

The meeting was attended by CEO, Shopian Development Authority, GM, DIC, ACD, Principal, GDC Shopian/Zainapora, CEO, CMO, CHO, CAHO and other concerned.
