REASI, AUGUST 11: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek Tuesday chaired a meeting of the district officers in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review and finalize arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of Independence Day 2026.
The meeting, as per an official statement, decided that the main Independence Day function shall be held at the General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed preparations in detail and directed the departments to complete their assigned tasks well in advance.
The meeting discussed the arrangements for security, venue management, sanitation, drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, traffic regulation, healthcare facilities, seating arrangements, public address system, cultural programmes and other logistical requirements.
The Deputy Commissioner directed for making adequate provision of public convenience facilities and availability of medical services at the venue. He also directed the concerned departments to illuminate all government offices and heritage buildings to enhance the festive atmosphere during the Independence Day celebrations.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars were asked to convene meetings at their respective headquarters and ensure similar arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of Independence Day in their respective subdivisions and Tehsils.
ADDC Krishan Lal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, ACR Nitin Verma, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD Mukesh Sharma and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
