SRINAGAR, AUGUST 13: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Srinagar, successfully organised the Inter-School District-Level Karate Championship for boys and girls in all age groups at the Indoor Hall, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Rawalpora, Srinagar.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools across the district. The young athletes displayed remarkable talent, discipline, sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the event.
Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Rawalpora emerged as the Overall Champion, securing an impressive 24 Gold Medals in the championship. The outstanding performance of the students brought pride and honour to the institution.
On the occasion, Principal Shafiqa congratulated all the medal winners and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Physical Education Department and the coaching staff for their commitment towards nurturing sporting talent among students.
The Principal also expressed her appreciation to the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Srinagar, for organising such sporting activities and providing young students with valuable opportunities to showcase their talent at the competitive level.
She emphasised that regular participation in sports plays an important role in promoting physical fitness, discipline, confidence and a healthy lifestyle among youth, while also contributing towards the collective mission of building a healthy, empowered and drug-free Kashmir.
The successful conduct of the championship reflects the continued efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports towards promoting sports at the grassroots level and encouraging young boys and girls to pursue excellence in different sporting disciplines.
