Rajouri, Aug 20: An unidentified body was recovered from a river in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district on Thursday, officials said.

An official said that locals engaged in contract-related work spotted the body floating in the river and informed the police.

He said a police team along with personnel from the SDRF reached the spot and recovered the body from the river. “The body has been taken into custody, while the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained,” he said, adding that the body is in a decomposed condition, making identification difficult.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been taken up and a probe has begun—(KNO)
