4 injured in bear attack in Nandimarg

ulgam, Oct 01: Four people were injured after being attacked by a wild bear in Nandimarg Nard area of Damhal Hanjipora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, officials said.

An official said that four people, comprising two men and two women, were injured after they were attacked by a wild bear in the area.

He said the two women are stated to be in critical condition, while the two men are stable. They were identified as Shafiqa Banoo (60), wife of Bashir Ahmad Dar, Aayesha Bano (50), wife of Abdul Salam Magrey, Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, son of Abdullah Bhat and Abdul Salam, all residents of C R Pora.

Meanwhile, a wildlife team has been deployed in the area to trace the animal. Further details are awaited—(KNO)
