National Voluntary Blood Donation Day observed at Blood Centre AH GMC Doda

DODA, OCTOBER 1: National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed Thursday at the Blood Centre Associated Hospital, Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, with active participation of students, security personnel and volunteers.

The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Medical Superintendent AH GMC Dr. Irfan Tasaduq, in the presence of Head and Assistant Professor, Blood Centre, AH GMC Dr. Rampal, besides officers and representatives from 10 RR Arnora and SSB Khellani.

As part of the observance, a voluntary blood donation drive was organised in which personnel from Jammu & Kashmir Police, 10 RR Arnora, SSB Khellani, 26 RR Thathri, MBBS students and B.Sc. Nursing students participated enthusiastically.

The participating donors donated blood for the benefit of patients requiring transfusion at the Associated Hospital, GMC Doda. The initiative highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and reflected the spirit of community service and social responsibility.

Dr. Rampal appreciated the donors and participating organisations for their valuable contribution. He emphasized that voluntary blood donation is a noble humanitarian service and urged eligible citizens to come forward and donate blood regularly to help ensure the availability of safe blood for patients in need.

The Head and staff of the Blood Centre, AH GMC Doda expressed gratitude to all donors, students, security personnel, officers and participating organisations for their support and active participation in making the blood donation drive successful.
