Minor girl injured in Kulgam leopard attack

Kulgam, Oct 03: A seven-year-old girl was injured after being attacked by a leopard in the Damhal Hanji Pora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said.

An official said that the girl sustained injuries in the leopard attack in Damhal Hanji Pora, Kulgam.

He said the girl was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for specialised medical care and identified her as Shahida Akhtar (7), daughter of Rafia Kalas, a resident of DH Pora, Kulgam.

Meanwhile, the incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, while locals have urged the authorities to take immediate measures to prevent further leopard attacks—(KNO)
