Reviews arrangements for operationalisation

KULGAM, OCTOBER 05: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, Monday visited the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre at Kulgam and took stock of the arrangements being put in place for its operationalisation.

During the visit, the DDC, as per an official statement, inspected the various facilities at the centre and reviewed the preparedness with regard to infrastructure, equipment, sanitation, animal handling facilities and other essential arrangements required for commencing operations.

The DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure that all requisite arrangements are completed in a time-bound manner and that the centre is made fully functional with focus on  maintaining proper hygiene, animal welfare and effective management of the facility.

The concerned officers briefed the DDC regarding the status of the arrangements and the steps being taken for early operationalisation of the centre.The Animal Birth Control Centre is aimed at facilitating scientific and humane management of the stray dog population through sterilisation and vaccination, thereby contributing towards a safer and cleaner environment in the district.
