MET forecasts rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds on Oct 13-14

Srinagar, Oct 10: Light rain lashed parts of Kashmir on Saturday, while higher reaches, including Gulmarg, witnessed fresh light snowfall as the Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir for most days over the coming week.

According to the weather department, a brief spell of light rain is likely at scattered to many places on Saturday, with light snowfall over higher reaches.

The department has forecast generally dry weather on October 11 and 12.

According to the forecast accessed by the news agency – Kashmir News Observer (KNO), on October 13 and 14, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy, with light rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds at many places. Higher reaches may receive light snowfall during this period.

The weather is expected to remain generally dry on October 15 and 16, although brief spells of light rain may occur at a few places.

From October 17 to 22, the weather is likely to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir, according to the forecast.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre has advised farmers to continue harvesting and ensure the safe storage of harvested apples and paddy.

It has also warned of the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds on October 10 and October 13-14. (KNO)
