Srinagar, Oct 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday banned supervisory staff from using mobile phones during examination hours in the ongoing board examinations.

JKBOSE Secretary in a circular impressed upon all centre superintendents not to permit their supervisory staff to keep mobile phones along with them during the examination hours.

“They will deposit the cell phones with the centre superintendents, who will be personally responsible for implementation of the circular instruction,” it reads,

The board however said that the centre superintendents are exempted. “They can keep mobile phones for effective communication and to remain in constant touch with Divisional or Sub Branch offices of JKBOSE, besides, their own departmental hierarchical set up.”

Furthermore, the board said that no candidate shall be allowed to move out of the examination centre with his question paper till at least half- time of the examination period is over.

On Tuesday, JKBOSE constituted a three-member committee to investigate the reported outage of the Mathematics question paper of annual regular exams of 10th standard shortly after the commencement in one of the Mahore centres.

Pertinently, the annual regular examination for 12th standard commences today and will culminate on November-21 and the board exams for 11th standard will commence from October-29 till November-30.

Earlier on October-19, nearly 97,000 students appeared for the Class 10th exams.

The officials said that the exam was held in 1,003 centres across Kashmir and a few districts of winter-zone areas of Jammu division.

JKBOSE has said that nearly 97500 students have been enrolled for the exams that includes 72,232 from Kashmir and 25,268 from winter zones of Jammu division.

The board had also informed that at least 2,70,000 students have registered to appear in board exams of 10th, 11th and 12th standard—(KNO)
