Jammu, Oct 29: The Department of Information & Public Relations on Thursday organised a debate competition on the use and threats of Artificial Intelligence here at Government Higher Secondary School Chhanni Himmat. The event was held under the government’s Youth Empowerment Programme.

Students of the school took part in the competition with great enthusiasm, presenting their views on the topic with confidence and clarity. Aliya clinched the first position, while Versha and Vansh secured the second and third positions, respectively. The winners were felicitated on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director Information (PR), Moksha Dogra said the Youth Empowerment Programme aims to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to make them confident, skilled and self-reliant. She stressed that AI, like any other powerful technological tool, requires safe and careful use. She encouraged students to learn and adopt new technology positively for the benefit of society and their personal growth.

Deputy Chief Education Officer Pardeep Singh also attended the event. He appreciated the DIPR for organising the debate competition on such an important topic to help students build confidence and sharpen their communication skills. He urged students to stay curious about emerging technologies like AI while using them responsibly and with a sense of purpose. He also encouraged them to participate actively in such initiatives for their all-round development.

A large number of students attended the programme and actively interacted with the guests, who answered their queries.
