MC Rajouri introduces face authentication-based attendance system for staff

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 06: In a significant step towards promoting digital governance, transparency and accountability in public service delivery, the Municipal Council Rajouri has introduced face authentication-based attendance marking through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) for all its staff members, including sanitation workers. The initiative has been taken under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner.

Under the introduced system, employees, as per an official statement, can now mark their attendance through face authentication using the AadhaarBAS mobile application on their personal mobile devices. The system enables sanitation workers to mark their attendance directly from their respective duty locations/assigned wards, subject to the configured entry points and location-based authentication requirements.

One of the major benefits of this initiative is that sanitation workers are no longer required to visit the Municipal Council office merely to punch their attendance on a conventional biometric machine. They can mark their attendance at their respective places of deployment, thereby saving valuable time, reducing unnecessary travel and allowing them to focus more effectively on their assigned sanitation duties.
