BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 07: Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Kashmir, Qazi Irfan Saturday visited the office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Bandipora, and reviewed its overall functioning, administrative performance and delivery of public services.

During the visit, the RTO, as per an official statement, reviewed various citizen-centric services, including issuance of driving licences, vehicle registration, permits and fitness certification. He also assessed the pendency of applications and progress in service delivery through the SARATHI and VAHAN portals.

Emphasising accountability and efficiency, the RTO directed the officers and officials to ensure timely disposal of applications in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Guarantee Act. He stressed that the public should not face unnecessary delays or repeated visits to the office for availing services.

The RTO also stressed transparency, proper record maintenance, public-friendly behaviour and regular monitoring of pending cases. He called for intensified enforcement of the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, with special focus on road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.

On the occasion, ARTO Bandipora, Mukhtar Ahmad briefed the RTO about the functioning of the office, disposal of public grievances, pendency of applications and steps taken to improve service delivery.

The RTO appreciated the efforts of the ARTO and his team and urged them to continue working with dedication and professionalism to ensure transparent, efficient and hassle-free transport services to the people of District Bandipora.
