Kupwara, Oct 29: Police Station Sogam organised a women’s grievance redressal camp at Shumrial village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, with several complaints resolved on the spot, officials said.

The camp was conducted exclusively by women police officers and witnessed the participation of a number of local women, who shared their concerns and registered grievances.

An official said that the women police officers listened to the complainants and addressed several grievances on the spot, ensuring prompt relief to the women concerned.

The initiative aimed to provide women with a safe and accessible platform to voice their concerns and seek police assistance in a supportive environment, the official said.

The camp, according to the official, also sought to strengthen public confidence in the police and encourage women to approach law enforcement authorities without hesitation.

Such public outreach initiatives would continue to ensure the timely and sensitive redressal of grievances in accordance with the law. Kupwara Police reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the dignity, rights and security of women, the official added—(KNO)
