Hails CM Omar’s ‘efforts to ensure district representation

Budgam, Oct 29: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Chadoora Ali Mohammad Dar on Thursday welcomed the recent cabinet reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir, describing it as a good decision. He appreciated Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s efforts to ensure representation for different sections and districts.

Speaking to reporters, Dar said that Omar Abdullah and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah had made efforts to accommodate people from different backgrounds in the Council of Ministers.

He added that the Union Territory has a limited ministerial strength. “Five ministers had been appointed earlier, of whom one was dropped, while four new faces were inducted as part of the reshuffle,” he said, adding that senior leaders had also been included in the new ministerial team.

The NC leader said that CM Abdullah had made considerable efforts to ensure district-wise representation.

“We understand that people from different districts have expectations of representation in the government. While some areas, including Shopian and Bandipora, had not received representation in the reshuffle, we are hopeful that they would also get their turn at an appropriate time,” he said—(KNO)
