UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ananth Dwivedi Friday chaired a meeting of District Level Monitoring Committee under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to   review the verification and approval status of farmers’ claims enrolled for Kharif 2026 on the National Crop Insurance Portal.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and other officers concerned.

As per the enrolment summary placed before the Committee, a total of 21,214 farmers were enrolled for coverage of Paddy and Maize crops under PMFBY Kharif 2026. The crop-wise coverage comprises 1,469 Paddy cultivating farmers and 19,745 Maize cultivating farmers.

The Committee decided that Loanee farmers/Kisan Credit Card holders, whose verification has already been carried out by the Revenue and Agriculture Departments, shall be treated as verified for the purpose of further processing, subject to verification from the Lead District Manager through the banks and compliance with applicable PMFBY guidelines and records. The concerned authorities were asked to accord the necessary approvals on the NCIP.

In respect of Non-Loanee farmers, the concerned Revenue Officers shall verify the enrolled farmers and certify the correctness of their relevant particulars.

After completion of the verification, the Agriculture Department shall process the eligible cases for approval on the NCIP. The Committee emphasised due care and strict adherence to PMFBY guidelines at every stage.

The DLMC also reviewed the cases flagged for discrepancies. A total of 27 cases were rejected by the Committee, including 20 Loanee farmer cases flagged as duplicate by the banks and 7 Non-Loanee farmer cases in which the land records were found not to belong to the applicants.

The Committee directed all concerned departments and officers to coordinate closely and ensure timely verification, portal updation and approval so that eligible farmers are not deprived of the benefits available under PMFBY.

The Agriculture Department will coordinate with the concerned Revenue Officers and other stakeholders to facilitate completion of the process within the prescribed timeline.
