SAMBA, FEBRUARY 24: In a significant step toward women’s empowerment and livelihood generation, kiosks for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of Samba district were inaugurated Tuesday at the revered Chichi Mata Temple under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.

The kiosks, as per an official statement, were formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan, in the presence of the district officers. The initiative aims to enhance income generation and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities for local women associated with Self-Help Groups.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of economic self-reliance among women and reiterated the district administration’s commitment to strengthening women-led enterprises through the government schemes.

She stated that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative not only focuses on improving the child sex ratio and promoting girls’ education but also aims to ensure long-term empowerment and financial stability for women.

The programme was attended by ADC, ACR, District Social Welfare Officer and other district officers, who appreciated the efforts of the SHGs and encouraged them to make optimal use of the facilities provided.
