SRINAGAR, APRIL 16: As part of the ongoing 100-Day ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir’ campaign launched by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K, and in line with the calendar of activities of District Administration Srinagar, the Cultural Unit Kashmir of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Thursday organized an awareness programme titled “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life” under the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan at Girls Secondary School (GSS), Balhama.

The programme, as per an official statement, witnessed active participation of students and staff, aiming to sensitize young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible life.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Srinagar, Tariq Reshi; BDO Khonmoh, Muqsit Wani; and AECO Cultural Unit, Syed Shakeel Shan, addressed the gathering.

The speakers highlighted the serious physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction and emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate this menace from society. They urged students to stay away from drugs and become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

As part of the awareness initiative, the Cultural Unit presented a thematic folk song and a short play carrying strong anti-drug messages.

The Principal and staff of the school appreciated the initiative taken by DIPR, acknowledging its role in creating awareness and guiding youth towards a positive and healthy future.
