BANDIPORA, APRIL 27: District Administration Bandipora Monday intensified its efforts under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan by conducting a series of awareness programmes, community outreach activities, and student engagement initiatives across the district.

Awareness sessions were organised at multiple educational institutions, focusing on sensitising students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and disciplined life. These sessions included lectures, interactive discussions, and IEC-based activities aimed at building awareness about the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction.

Essay writing competitions were widely held in various schools as part of the campaign calendar, encouraging students to express their views on themes related to drug abuse, peer pressure, and the importance of a drug-free society. Students participated enthusiastically, presenting thoughtful and impactful ideas promoting positive lifestyle choices.

In several institutions, Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) were also convened, providing a platform for meaningful interaction between parents and teachers regarding students’ academic progress, behaviour, and overall development. The meetings emphasised the importance of parental involvement, regular monitoring, and a supportive home environment in shaping responsible and aware individuals. Parents were also sensitised about their role in preventing substance abuse among youth.

Pledge-taking ceremonies formed an integral part of the campaign, with students, staff, and community members collectively reaffirming their commitment towards a drug-free society. Awareness rallies and community-level IEC programmes were also conducted in various panchayats, further strengthening grassroots outreach and public participation.

The district also witnessed awareness programmes in remote and rural areas, ensuring that the message of the campaign reached every section of society. Activities such as yoga sessions, public interactions, and awareness talks were organised to promote healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure against substance abuse.

Overall, the day-long activities witnessed active participation from students, parents, teachers, and members of the community, reflecting a collective resolve to combat drug abuse and support the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bandipora.
