BANDIPORA, MAY 12: District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday continued activities under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan across the district with awareness programmes, essay competitions, pledge ceremonies, IEC campaigns and Gram Sabhas organised in educational institutions and Panchayat Halqas.
Awareness and IEC pamphlet distribution programmes, as per an official statement, were conducted at HS Panar, HS Achoora, HS Ketson, Government High School Trigam, Government High School Ahamsharief, PM SHRI HSS Shadipora, HSS Nowgam, HSS Quilmuqam, HSS Chuntimulla and HSS Gadakhud to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle.
Essay writing competitions on the theme “What Does Drug Addiction Mean to You” were organised at Government High School Garoora, HSS Gadakhud and HSS PTL Gurez Bandipora, while Government High School Nadihal conducted pledge-taking and essay writing activities. PM SHRI Girls High School Sumbal organised an awareness programme and a short race to spread the message of a healthy and drug-free society.
Special Gram Sabhas and awareness activities under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan were also held at Panchayat Onagam-A, Panchayat C.A. Khan, Panchayat Halqa Sadunara-A in Block Hajin, Panchayat Ganastan-B, SK Bala Panchayat-B, Guzarbal Bonakoot and Braripora Bonakoot-C to raise awareness about substance abuse and promote a drug-free society.
The Excise Range North Kashmir organised an Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness Programme under the 100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan in collaboration with Baba Gani Public High School Shadipora, Sumbal. The programme included pledge-taking, sports activities and an anti-drug rally to spread awareness against substance abuse. Teachers and excise officials sensitised students about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of a drug-free life.
Awareness sessions on drug abuse and preventive measures were also organised by the AYUSH Department Bandipora. Medical Officer AHWC Banyari also conducted an awareness programme at Panchayat Sadunara-A and Government High School Banyari with participation of students, teachers and healthcare staff.
The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, Panchayat representatives and the public, reflecting the continued commitment towards successful implementation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan across Bandipora district.
