SHOPIAN, MAY 12: In a significant push towards youth engagement & awareness and community wellness, a series of high-impact events were organized in Shopian Tuesday under the banner of Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan (NMJKA).
The initiatives, as per an official statement, spanned across sports, painting , seminars, pledges poster distribution, and physical well-being, drawing massive participation from the local youth.
Some prominent events held Tuesday include Inter-School Sports Tournament at GHSS Kaprin which included Volley ball and Kabaddi tournament for under-14 girls.The event saw young athletes showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship. These competitions aimed to channelize the energy of the youth into constructive and healthy lifestyle choices.
A seminar at Polytechnic College Shopian was held to sensitise youth on menace of alarming drug abuse.The event was attended by Shabir Ahmad Kullay, MLA Shopian, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, MLA emphasized the importance of community vigilance and the role of educational institutions in building a drug-free society.
Under 100 Day campaign, series of awareness,sports activities and Yoga sessions were held across various locations in the Shopian district.These activities are designed to promote mental health and physical fitness, reinforcing the message of a healthy, resilient and drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.
