DC Kulgam reviews implementation of PMGSY

KULGAM, JUNE11: A review meeting regarding the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in District Kulgam was held at the DC Office, Kulgam, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Executive Engineer PMGSY Kulgam, and Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs).

During the meeting, the progress and achievements of PMGSY in providing road connectivity to far-flung and previously unconnected habitations through all-weather roads were reviewed in detail.

The chair, as per an official statement, was informed that, up to PMGSY-III, a total of 147 road projects and 5 bridge projects have been completed in the district.

It was further informed that, under PMGSY-IV, 13 road schemes are currently under execution, while another 8 schemes are in the tendering phase.

The meeting also deliberated on various issues affecting the implementation of ongoing projects, including forest clearance and land-related disputes.

The Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for the timely resolution of these issues to ensure the smooth execution of the works.
