BANDIPORA, JUNE 18: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) and the 100-Day Anti-Drug Campaign, a series of awareness activities were organized across educational institutions in Bandipora district on Thursday to sensitize students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a drug-free society.

Art competitions were organized at Higher Secondary School Gadakhud, Higher Secondary School Koragbal, Higher Secondary School Ketson, Higher Secondary School Nowgam, Higher Secondary School Alossa, High School Panar and PM Shri Government High School Odina. Students participated enthusiastically and expressed their commitment towards a drug-free India through creative paintings, drawings and posters highlighting the social, mental and physical consequences of drug abuse.

At HSS Gadakhud, students showcased their artistic talent through paintings depicting the adverse impact of substance abuse. The best performers were awarded certificates of appreciation by the school administration.

At PM SHRI GHS Odina, the programme concluded with the NMBA pledge, wherein students and staff reaffirmed their commitment to staying away from drugs and contributing towards a healthy and addiction-free India.

Meanwhile, the NCORD Cell of HKM Government Degree College Bandipora organized a Future Roadmap and Sustainability Planning Workshop under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme focused on strengthening awareness initiatives and developing sustainable strategies for long-term efforts towards a drug-free society.

The workshop witnessed active participation from students and staff who deliberated on future plans and collaborative measures for sustaining anti-drug awareness campaigns. Dr. G. M. Khan, Faculty, Department of English, delivered an insightful lecture on the harmful effects of drug addiction and emphasized preventive measures through awareness, education and community engagement.

The workshop also focused on identifying key action areas, strengthening institutional mechanisms and encouraging community participation to ensure the sustainability of anti-drug initiatives.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to actively contribute towards building a drug-free society and carrying forward the mission of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in letter and spirit.
