District AYUSH offices of Shopian, Pulwama organise “Run for Yoga”

SHOPIAN/PULWAMA, JUNE 19: In the run-up to the celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga, scheduled to be observed on 21st June 2026, the District AYUSH Offices of Shopian and Pulwama organized a “Run for Yoga” event to promote awareness about the importance of yoga and encourage healthy lifestyles among the public at two District Headquarters.

The events, as per an official statement, witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and officials of the AYUSH Department, healthcare staff, students, youth volunteers, and members of the general public. The run aimed to spread the message of holistic health and well-being and to create awareness about the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized that yoga is a powerful tool for achieving physical, mental, and emotional well-being and plays a vital role in fostering harmony and healthy living. Participants carried placards and banners highlighting the theme of the International Day of Yoga and spreading the message of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The events forms part of a series of activities being organized by the District AYUSH Offices of Shopian and Pulwama in the run-up to the grand celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2026 at District Headquarters. These initiatives are aimed at mobilizing community participation and reinforcing the importance of yoga as a way of life.

The District AYUSH authorities expressed gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their active involvement and called upon the public to join the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga and embrace yoga for a healthier and happier society.
