Emphasises timely credit linkages, handholding of youth entrepreneurs

DODA, JUNE 25: Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal Thursday chaired a review meeting at the DC Office Complex Doda, to assess progress under Mission YUVA, the flagship initiative for promoting self-employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods among the district’s youth.

The meeting covered the culmination of Udyam Jagriti 4.0 and commencement of Udyam Jagriti 5.0, status of credit applications, progress of Skill and Business Development Units (SBDUs) and Block Handholding Desks (BHDs), capacity-building modules, output tracking and the roadmap for accelerating Mission YUVA performance.

The DC directed departments and banking institutions concerned to expedite pending credit applications, with all banks directed to dispose of cases strictly as per prescribed guidelines. The Employment Department was directed to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions for greater student registration under Udyam Jagriti 4.0 and enhanced SHG women’s participation under Udyam Jagriti 5.0; 187 applications from SHG women have already been registered on the portal.

The district currently has approximately 9,957 Lakhpati Didis. The DC directed that all eligible and left-out women be included under the Lakhpati Didi Initiative and that officers accelerate block-wise progress to achieve assigned targets. He further directed that awareness campaigns and registration drives be intensified, application targets aligned with population-based benchmarks at the block level and regular field visits conducted for monitoring. Post-sanction handholding, capacity building, market linkages and entrepreneurship training were stressed as essential to the long-term success of beneficiaries.

Among those present were Additional Commissioner Revenue Doda Ashraf Pervaz, Chief Planning Officer Manesh Kumar Manhas, Lead District Manager Parveen Kumar, DIO NIC Narender, District Employment Officer, representatives of various banks, officials from NRLM and other stakeholder departments. Several officers participated through virtual mode.
