TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan : DC Shopian urges coordinated action to make district TB-free

SHOPIAN, JULY 09: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta Thursday chaired a review meeting of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan here at Mini Secretariat, Shopian to assess the progress of tuberculosis elimination efforts across the district.

During the meeting, the DC, as per an official statement, reviewed the status of TB case detection, treatment outcomes, follow-up mechanisms and awareness initiatives being undertaken in the district. He stressed the need for intensified screening, early diagnosis, timely treatment and coordinated efforts to achieve the objective of a TB-free Shopian.

The DC directed the Health Department to strengthen community outreach, ensure regular monitoring of patients, enhance public awareness regarding TB prevention and treatment and maintain close coordination among all stakeholders for effective implementation of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

He emphasized that sustained efforts, active public participation and efficient healthcare delivery for achieving the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis within the stipulated timeline.

The meeting was attended by CMO, Shopian, Dr. Saima Bhat;  MS,  DH, Shopian, Dr. Arshid Qadri; DTO,  Dr. Aijaz Patloo, BMOs, besides Senior Treatment Supervisors (STS) and Senior Treatment Laboratory Supervisors (STLS).
