Director Agriculture Kashmir reviews activities at Seed Multiplication Farm Allowpora

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 16: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, Wednesday visited the Seed Multiplication Farm at Allowpora and reviewed the ongoing activities and overall functioning of the farm.

During the visit, the Director, as per an official statement, inspected various ongoing farm operations and took detailed stock of the seed multiplication programme. He interacted with the concerned officers and field staff and sought a comprehensive assessment of the progress achieved, crop management practices, field operations and developmental works being undertaken at the farm.

Sartaj Ahmad Shah stressed the importance of strengthening departmental seed production infrastructure for ensuring the availability of quality seed to farmers at the appropriate time. He directed the concerned officers to maintain strict adherence to prescribed technical standards and ensure timely execution of all farm operations for achieving optimum seed production.

The Director also emphasized the need for scientific and efficient management of departmental farms, judicious utilization of available resources and adoption of improved agricultural practices. He called upon the field functionaries to maintain close monitoring of farm activities and ensure that the available infrastructure and resources are utilized to their full potential.

The concerned officers briefed the Director about the various activities being undertaken at the farm and apprised him of the progress and future course of action.
