UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 26: The Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Udhampur Minga Sherpa Saturday chaired a meeting of Sub Divisional Census Officers and Charge Census Officers to review the progress of the Population Enumeration in high altitude areas of the district under the Census 2027 Phase-II.
The meeting, as per an official statement, focused on accelerating the remaining fieldwork of Population Enumeration in identified snow-bound areas of the district having high-altitude and difficult-to-access terrains. The Principal Census Officer directed the concerned Charge Census Officers to intensify field work and ensure 100% coverage of all households in their respective areas on a war-footing basis.
Emphasizing the national importance of the digital census exercise, Charge Census Officers were directed to closely monitor the field staff on a daily basis and ensure completion of the remaining enumeration work well before September 30, 2026.
To ensure a meticulous and comprehensive data collection process, the chair explicitly directed that enumerators must guarantee the coverage of all residential as well as non-residential census houses including vacant or locked census houses across the identified snow-bound areas of the district.
The meeting was attended by the District Census Officer (Addl. Deputy Commissioner), Addl. District Census Officer (District Statistics & Evaluation Officer) and District Nodal Officer.
