RAMBAN, OCTOBER 14: Government Degree College Ramban, in coordination with Department of Industries and Commerce, on Wednesday organised a one-day awareness camp-cum-outreach programme to promote self-employment schemes being implemented by the Industries Department.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 100 students attending the programme hosted under the guidance of Principal of the college, Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri.
Functional Manager District Industries Centre Swaroop Kotwal served as the resource person. He shared comprehensive information about PMEGP and other government schemes designed to encourage young people to establish their own enterprises. He elaborated on the objectives, benefits and procedures of these schemes and apprised the students of the opportunities available to aspiring entrepreneurs. He also encouraged students to explore self-employment as a viable career option and make use of the support provided by the government.
The programme was moderated by Prof. Narotam Singh, who coordinated the proceedings and facilitated an interactive session between the resource person and the students.
The session enabled students to gain a better understanding of the various schemes and their potential role in promoting entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance.
The initiative proved to be a valuable platform for sensitising students to the importance of entrepreneurship and acquainting them with the government’s efforts to promote employment opportunities among youth.
At the conclusion of the programme, Assistant Professor Dr. Varun Sharma delivered the formal vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the College Principal, the resource person, the organisers and the participating students for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the awareness camp.
