BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 27: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Baramulla, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organised Yuva Samvaad at Government Degree College (GDC), Uri, bringing together around 250 young citizens to promote democratic awareness, civic responsibility and active youth participation in nation-building.

Held as part of the nationwide Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvaad initiative, the programme provided a platform for young people to exchange ideas, strengthen their understanding of democratic values and discuss their role in shaping the nation’s future.

The programme, as per an official statement, was graced by Rawhaan Buhroo, Youth Icon, whose presence added valuable perspectives on public leadership, sporting excellence and youth aspirations.

A key highlight of the event was an interactive dialogue involving students, the District Youth Officer (DYO) and the Youth Icon. Participants raised questions and shared their views on youth participation in governance, civic responsibility and the importance of first-time voters in strengthening democratic processes.

The programme concluded with the Loktantrik Pledge, through which participants reaffirmed their commitment to democratic values, informed participation and responsible citizenship.

Through initiatives like Yuva Samvaad, MY Bharat aims to bring young citizens closer to democratic institutions and encourage them to contribute actively to the nation’s development. The initiative places youth at the centre of nation-building, inspiring them to turn their ideas, aspirations and sense of responsibility into meaningful contributions towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
