172 posts pending in J&K amid clarifications, court cases

Srinagar, Sep 08: As many as 172 government posts in Jammu and Kashmir are pending due to clarifications, court cases and other departmental issues, according to details available in an official document.

The data shows that the Higher Education Department has 92 posts pending, including 88 Assistant Professor posts in various disciplines, for which clarification is awaited from the Higher Education Department. Written examinations for 52 of these posts have already been conducted.

Another two posts of Assistant Professor in Biotechnology Engineering and two posts of Assistant Professor in Food Engineering & Technology are pending due to the non-availability of syllabus.

In the Health & Medical Education Department, one post of Junior Medical Physicist is pending due to the non-availability of the syllabus.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture Production Department has five posts of District Sericulture Officer pending, with the matter marked as sub judice.

The Health & Medical Education Department also has 35 posts of Assistant Professor (Unani/Ayurveda), two posts of Assistant Commissioner Food Safety and 10 posts of Assistant Professor Nursing pending, with the matters facing court-related issues.

Besides, seven posts of AP (500-bedded) Paediatrics Hospital, Bemina, have been kept on hold by the department.

Another 20 posts of Tutor/Lecturer/Andrologist/Gynaecologist/Clinical Embryologist are awaiting clarification from the concerned department.

The document puts the total number of posts pending due to clarification/court cases at 172—(KNO)
