Judicial Officers meet held at DLSA Budgam

BUDGAM, DECEMBER 16: Under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKSLSA), the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam convened a meeting of Judicial Officers under the initiative “Mediation for the Nation 2.0” at the Chamber of the Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA), Budgam.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was chaired by the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Budgam and was attended by Judicial Officers of District Budgam and the Judicial Officers of TLSCs Budgam, attend the meeting Virtually.

The meeting was organised to deliberate upon and identify suitable cases for Mediation with the objective of promoting amicable settlement of disputes and Strengthening the alternative dispute resolution mechanism within the district.

The Secretary, DLSA Budgam, briefed the officers about the objectives of Mediation for the Nation 2.0 and emphasized the need for proactive identification and referral of appropriate cases to mediation.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the categories of cases suitable for mediation, including matrimonial, family, civil, and other compoundable disputes. Judicial Officers were encouraged to actively screen pending matters and refer eligible cases to mediation centres for early and effective resolution.

The Chairman, DLSA Budgam, stressed the importance of mediation in reducing pendency, saving litigant’s time and resources, and ensuring speedy and consensual justice.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment by the Judicial Officers to actively support and implement the objectives of Mediation for the Nation 2.0 in District Budgam.
