JAMMU, JUNE 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Monday inaugurated its 20-day Summer Children’s Workshop at Jammu. Additional Secretary JKAACL Sonali Arun Gupta formally inaugurated the workshop.
The Summer Children’s Workshop, as per an official statement, is an annual initiative of JKAACL, organised successfully over many years with the objective of nurturing creativity and talent among children during their summer vacations.
Addressing participants, Additional Secretary Sonali Arun Gupta, as per an official statement, said that such workshops provide children with a meaningful opportunity to utilise their vacations productively. She encouraged participants to benefit from these creative learning experiences and explore their hidden talents.
This year, the theatre workshop is being conducted by renowned theatre artist and director Neeraj Kant. The painting workshop is being led by noted cartoonist and media creator Chander Shekhar, assisted by Jyeshtha Jamwal. The dance workshop is being conducted by Himani Kapoor.
Among those present at the inaugural ceremony were Sanjeev Gupta, SOCA; Anil Tickoo, ACO, JKAACL; theatre expert Neeraj Kant; painting and arts expert Chander Shekhar; dance expert Himani Kapoor; and painting expert Jyeshtha Jamwal.
Around 90 students from various schools are participating across different disciplines. The primary aim of the workshop is to foster the overall personality development of children and provide them a platform to identify and nurture their hidden talents through creative expression.
The workshop will continue for 20 days and culminate with a presentation showcasing the skills acquired by participants during the training period.
